My Story

I started writing as soon as I could hold a pen. I've always been in love with books and there was never any doubt about what I wanted to be, what I wanted to do with my life. I wrote poetry and short stories in my youth and at fifteen, I submitted my first YA handwritten manuscript to Harlequin. I have no idea where that courage came from-probably a young arrogance. But the rejection letter that arrived months later was so encouraging and kind that I continued writing until I graduated high school...Then real life happened lol. Multiple jobs to pay rent, university courses stealing my time and focus and boys...oh the boys that stole my heart:) Who had time for writing??

When I had my son in 2010, I decided it was time to pursue my passion again. I wanted him to see that dreams can come true if you work hard and believe in yourself. And I wrote my first published manuscript with him sitting on my lap. Thank Goodness he couldn't read;)

Six years later, I'm doing what I love-writing uplifting stories with Happily Ever After endings!

Then in 2017, I decided to write a different kind of relationship story. I had an idea for a domestic thriller and the pull to write it was so strong, I couldn't ignore it anymore lol. And in 2018, the book sold in a 2 book deal and my alter-ego J.M. Winchester was created. The story continues...

2018 has been a fantastic year of exploring new ventures and opportunities with my writing. My romance career continues with my new Alaska series launching late 2019 from Harlequin's HQN line and my psychology thriller career debuts with my first title, All The Lovely Pieces in August 2019. But, in addition to those projects, I also started writing screenplays and television pilots in 2018-Why not lol? And I'm thrilled to announce that after signing with a film manager, JD DeWitt at 5 x 5 Productions, we sold my first holiday rom com screenplay to Breakthrough Productions just at the closing of the year!

I'm excited for the year ahead and for readers/viewers to meet the characters I've spent the last two years with.
